Assemblywoman Nily Rozic and Assemblyman Ron Kim Take a Stand Against Voter Fraud in Queens

Convening to raise awareness and provide resources ahead of primary election

Flushing, New York – Today, Assemblymembers Nily Rozic (D-Fresh Meadows) and Ron Kim (D-Flushing) convened at Assemblyman Kim’s district office in Flushing to discuss the threats of voter fraud and provide resources for the public.

The joint press conference raised awareness about the risks posed by voter fraud, including the theft of mail-in ballots, acts of voter suppression, and other fraudulent activities. Both elected officials are committed to educating the public and providing resources to safeguard their votes ahead of the primary election on June 25th, 2024.

“Voter fraud is nothing new – and we cannot let anyone compromise the integrity of our electoral system. This election cycle, I’m joining Assemblymember Kim in raising awareness to ensure fair and safe access to the ballot box, and I am committed to empowering eligible voters and protecting our democracy,” said Assemblywoman Nily Rozic, Chair of the Consumer Protection Committee.

“There is a very disturbing trend in my district of outside actors looking to influence our free and fair elections. Voter fraud schemes are being perpetrated onto my constituents in an effort to deny a person their right to vote. I want to be clear: This is a felony and will be referred to our local authorities. Protecting the character of our democracy is paramount to my mission and I will continue to raise awareness when this sacred trust breaks down. I want to thank Assemblymember Rozic for her partnership in the fight to ensure the integrity of our democracy will be upheld,” said Assemblyman Ron Kim, Chair of the Aging Committee.

Assemblymembers Rozic and Kim emphasized the importance of educating voters to protect themselves against potential cases of voter fraud. They encouraged constituents to take proactive measures, such as designating trusted individuals to handle their mail-in ballots and refraining from accepting any form of compensation for assistance with this process.

As the 2024 election cycle approaches, the elected officials urged constituents to exercise their right to vote responsibly.

Early voting will be available from Saturday, June 15th to Sunday, June 23rd, with the primary election taking place on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024.
